Merano and surroundings are well organized - what you should know.
Public transport: One of the strengths of Merano and the Burggrafenamt is public transport. Buses serve all surrounding villages and reach numerous starting points for hikes and walks as well as the cable car stations. There are various advantage cards with which the use of public transport is very favorable (for details see the own page advantage cards).
Arrival by train: Every day many trains from north and south reach the city of Bolzano. From there you can the regional train to Merano. Alternatively, we can organize a taxi for you, which will take you from Bolzano to the Hotel Juliane in Merano.
Transfer from Merano train station: From Merano train station take bus number 4 to the hotel, only 100 meters from the train station. Alternatively, you can take a taxi from the train station, which will take you directly to the hotel in a few minutes.
Arrival by plane: South Tyrol's regional airport Bolzano Dolomites offers regularly scheduled flights from Brussels, Copenhagen, Rotterdam, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Berlin, London, Düsseldorf or back to Bolzano. The SASA city lines 10A and 10B run at regular intervals between Bolzano airport and the city centre, as well as the train station in Bolzano. You can reach Merano either by bus, train or by taxi. Taxi ranks are located directly in front of Bolzano train station as well as at the airport terminal.The nearest airports are Verona and Innsbruck. Both can be reached in about 1.5-2 hours by car from Merano.
Internationally well connected are the airports of Bergamo (Milan) and Venice, around 2.5 and 3 hours by car from Merano.
